Step into this historic Dutch Colonial home, built by the Dunning Family in 1929 and lovingly maintained and recently refurnished by a fifth generation Dunning descendant.
The Dunning House is a warm, classic, and calm environment with natural light and refined decor. Situated on 1.5 acres you are located right off the main road of our secluded small town of South Sterling with a backdrop that boasts mountain views and our private creek.
The home Is full of classic enclaves- our first level including a living room, dining room, eat in kitchen, and half bathroom and our second level with a reading nook, 4 bedrooms, and a full bathroom. Our lower level houses the laundry area with washer and dryer.
Relax by our grand stone fireplace in the living room or enjoy a meal with family in the formal dining room with Dunning antiques! Play games and enjoy breakfast in the kitchen overlooking the 1.5 acre backyard and mountain backdrop! Our living room is equipped two oversized sofas, family games, an eclectic collection of coffee table books, and a top of the line Epson projector with 100 inch screen and HDMI cables and Google Chromecast for connecting your streaming services.
The kitchen is fully loaded for you and your group, so you have the option to cook a feast, bake goodies (as the Dunning family preferred) or simply brew coffee to enjoy in or outdoors.
Each bedrooms’ decor has been carefully handpicked from high quality furniture manufacturers, local stores, and Dunning family antiques. Each bedroom has brand new Casper mattresses and pillows to rest as you enjoy the expansive views of the property or sounds of the creek and roaming wildlife (yes, we have a family of wildlife!)
Two of the bedrooms lead onto a sizable outdoor terrace to enjoy the sun, relax with a book, or retreat with your freshly baked cookies and a warm cup of hot cocoa.
When heading outdoors, you can enjoy the covered side porch off the living room, explore our creek which boasts fresh trout, and large yard space with a patio behind the garage for an outdoor portable fire pit.
The large yard commands views of the mountains and sounds of the rushing creek by day and is our top star-gazing spot by night. When around the property, many also like to wander down the creekside to our "listening point" which allows you to fully immerse in the creek, to wade, float, fish, or cool off in the summer.
