Black Bear Cottage is for those special individuals and families looking for an authentic, tastefully rustic space for a peaceful and refreshing getaway. We could easily cramp the cottage's style and squeeze in more guests, but we want the best for our guests at Black Bear Cottage. We aim for quality, not quantity. This is not your typical crammed short term rental kind of place. We as the owners also use this cottage as our vacation home and take great pride in keeping it homey and enchanting. The Cottage is furnished with gorgeous furniture including the farm house dining table and 3 Log framed beds. Outside, we have colorful Adirondack chairs around the fire pit, 2 charming chairs on the upstairs balcony with a charming outdoor rug, a beautiful outdoor table for outside eating and a spacious front porch with plenty of seating and a nice size Jacuzzi Hot Tub. But it does not end there, just look above while sitting on the comfy sofa and you'll be in awe of the beautiful antler chandelier. If you're finding any of this intriguing, keep reading with us...
The cottage has 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen, sunroom, gas burning fireplace, firepit, mutliple patios, strong wifi throughout, smart televisions, central heat and air, sleeps 7 and plenty of outdoor furniture to make you comfy while drinking your morning coffee or tea. Bedding linens ARE INCLUDED.
This beautiful cottage is nestled on a quiet, wooded acre. Spacious property boasts a Backyard Fire pit with Adirondack chairs, large sunroom, large Hot tub and decoratively lit patio. Marked Hiking trail within a short walk of the cottage.
Walk into the cottage to find cathedral ceiling family room with an enchanting large antler chandelier and a gorgeous remote controlled gas fire place and a unique farmhouse kitchen with exposed wooden beams and post. A large rustic wood communal dining table creates a great gathering and eating spot. updated, granite counter kitchen towards the back with modern appliances and sharp, clean cabinetry. To the right is a reading nook with new chairs that offer wonderful views all year long.
There is a sunroom with indoor hotub that has tremendous views in the back of the home to relax in. The first guest bedroom and fully renovated bathroom are located on the first floor, housing a charming hickory wood twin bed over a full sized bed with it's own doorway to an outdoor patio. Head upstairs and you'll be greeted by the cottage's very own game room encompassing a large foosball table and bubble hockey table. After checking out the game room, you'll proceed to the second floor fully renovated bathroom. Second floor full bathroom has been recently updated with granite counter tops and a rectangular double sink and a new fitted shower/tub, bathroom itself has a spacious floor plan. Down the hallway is a gorgeous master bedroom with vaulted ceiling and exposed beam and lavish picture window overlooking the front of the property with a beautiful natural view of the trees and grand driveway. The master bedroom is home to an enchanting Aspen Log framed queen sized bed. Just next door is the second guest room which is home to a private, upstairs balcony overlooking a serene view, not to be left out, this guest bedroom has a rustic yet charming Hickory Log queen sized bed. The full sized billiards table is housed in a carpeted garage off the full laundry room.
The bears that inhabit the inside of the cottage can be seen by the multiple lamps scattered throughout, wall décor and figurines. The antler chandeliers above the farmhouse dining table and hanging above the family room area is sure to provide that special Poconos home nostalgia. Sit back on the comfy sofas and enjoy the gas fireplace while streaming from your favorite apps. Feel the need for refreshing escape? We have that covered, too.

Or take in the wonderful snowscapes in the back sunroom while soaking in the hot tub. Cozy up with a book in the reading nook. The gameroom and pool table will surely help warm the frost bitten toes and fingers.
In the fall take in the glory of fall foliage. Lush reds and violets and orange leaves paint the sky and offer views second to none on the property and around the region. Take in paintball and day trips to wineries nearby. Find new hiking trails in the Pocono mountains. Come home to a warm cozy cottage and fireplace inside or enjoy the leaves falling while relaxing in the hot tub letting time stand still. There is not much quite like the beauty of driving by the trees on the Jim Thorpe Roads with the autumn colored leaves or standing on the cottage property and looking up at the trees!
In the spring enjoy the thaw as the mountains come alive with blooms and babbling brooks flow. Enjoy a brisk morning with a fresh cup of coffee on the deck as you observe deer and other wildlife within feet of you. The open air feeling of the cottage and large windows abound will offer the sounds of chirping birds and wildlife movement. Take a relaxing pause on the deck while nature surrounds you. Make a fire at the firepit and enjoy time standing still for a while.
