INTERIOR REMODEL 2022 (new: front door; LVP flooring on main level; sheetrock on all exterior & some interior walls [sheetrock & insulation]; NEW WIRING - added electric Cadet heaters; dishwasher; over-range, vented microwave; new kitchen cabinets; window added to dining area; new stone fireplace; new pine trim through out the house; complete bathroom remodel). EXTERIOR REMODEL 2011 (new: double-paned, vinyl windows; roof; siding; paint and added a free-standing, propane stove operated by thermostat).
Three sleeping areas; FREE Wifi; in window AC; iron; iron board; TV; DVD; charcoal BBQ. The hot tub completes any day in the woods or on the slopes. The well-appointed kitchen makes "eating in" easy and the washer and dryer keeps everything clean and dry.
Originally a short-term vacation rental with all the extras (2 night minimum - $155/night), but changed to a seasonal rental (90 night minimum - 180 night maximum), significantly reducing the price ($50/night which includes utilities). As a long-term rental, we do NOT provide all the same amenities. We considered changing the pictures on the site, but decided against it as it wasn't aesthetically pleasing, choosing rather to leave it "staged.”
Not provided:
1. Bedding (pillows, blankets, sheets & throws). Only the mattress pad covers remain. These covers should never be removed unless for laundering purposes (wash them WITH bed sheets, never with another mattress pad covers as drying will cause them to adhere together). Covers should be returned immediately to the mattress, and mattresses should never be slept on without them at any time or for any reason. If the mattress is soiled, you made be held accountable for it's replacement.
2. Towels (kitchen & bathroom - including rug), washcloths, mats, dish rags or sponges
3. Soaps (dish, hand, laundry), shampoo, conditioner, paper products (TP, paper towels & napkins) nor cleaning products, plastic wrap, aluminum foil, sealing bags, dryer sheets, etc.
Regarding the hot tub: We would be glad to meet you and provide a brief overview and tutorial of how to use it properly. Weekly chemical balancing and cleaning provided.
You will be required to sign a NO SMOKING and HOT TUB disclaimer besides a contract before or at time of arrival .
Bugling Elk Bungalow is 10 miles from the southeast entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park, 19 miles to White Pass Ski area, and 1/3 of a mile from downtown Packwood.
Packwood and the Bugling Elk Bungalow are situated between Mt. Rainier, Mt. Saint Helens, Mt. Adams, and surrounded by Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Leave the fast pace and hassles behind, and embark on an adventure of natural scenic delights and wildlife so abundant, you will wonder if you are driving through the heart of a wild life preserve. Elk even appear a natural extension of the downtown Packwood landscape.
Hwy 12 received it's state and federal designation as White Pass Scenic Byway, "Playground of Volcano Country," so getting to Packwood is half the fun!
Historic Packwood, WA, is considered the dream of recreational enthusiasts, and White Pass ski area (19 miles beyond Packwood) has 1,510 vertical feet, ski lifts, great family skiing/snowboard programs, terrain for all ages, and all in stunningly beautiful surroundings. They also offer lessons and rentals for classical cross-country, skating, or snowshoeing.
In December 2010, White Pass re-opened following a $9 million expansion project that opens 767 acres to riding, two new chairlifts, 13 new trails and a new day lodge. 'Paradise Basin's opening is the biggest new thing in years for Cascade skiers and snowboarders . . . turning White Pass into a midsize Northwest ski area . . . Even though its ski terrain has doubled, White Pass retains the feeling of a small resort.'
